Justice for Sean — a father’s call for truth and accountability
Sean Hartman was a 17-year-old who loved hockey. He died 33 days after receiving a COVID-19 gene-therapy vaccine—after making a mature-minor decision. His father, Dan Hartman, has been seeking answers ever since.
Justice for Sean is a collective effort. Many people have stood with Dan since 2021. This fall, Sarena McLean, Director of Research Services at SNJ Associates, a private consulting company founded nearly 20 years ago is helping raise awareness of Sean’s story. Importantly, we are supporting Dan’s call for accountability, and justice while inviting Canadians to learn about the legal fight Dan faces for justice for Sean and for all Canadians.
About This Blog
This supports the fight for truth, accountability, and informed consent.
We are going to focus on the next scheduled court date Dan Hartman has in the new year. On January 26, 2026, the appeal to Health Canada will be heard by a three panel judge. The date for the Pfizer legal case is still pending and at the time of writing, Dan Hartman has confirmed there is no word yet on a date for this case.
We must learn why this legal battle is so important and help Dan spread the public awareness along with raise funds to cover the cost of these legal cases. Please help share, follow our posts, post this site in your networks and ask whenever you can for people to listen to Dan’s story and donate to the cause.
Human Impact
Sean’s story is not an abstract policy discussion; it is the lived reality of a father’s grief and journey for justice among a community crying our for support. The Justice for Sean initiative reframes private grief as a public responsibility to pursue accountability and justice for the violation of Sean’s right to informed consent and the abandonment of Parental Autonomy.
Throughout these efforts, Dan Hartman’s presence is honored and embedded in what we do. We ask precise questions that keep the effort rooted in Dan’s vision for Sean’s legacy. Every connection we have with Dan he reiterates how important his legal battle is to all Canadians.
What is Important to Know About the Legal Battle Against Health Canada & Pfizer?
Dan Hartman’s legal battle originated following the tragic death of his 17-year-old son, Sean Hartman, in September 2021, shortly after receiving his first Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination (Western Standard). The legal endeavor entails two main thrusts: an appeal against the denial of his claim by Canada’s Vaccine Injury Support Program (VISP) and two separate lawsuits (SNJ Associates; Western Standard; Global News). The initial VISP claim was denied within a month due to insufficient evidence (Global News). However, Dan sought a second opinion from pathologist Dr. Ryan Cole, whose report determined Sean’s death was caused by the vaccine spike protein found in his adrenal glands. This finding—which showed the spike protein outside the shoulder where it was supposed to remain—was provided in the appeal to VISP.
The lawsuits target Pfizer and Canadian government entities, specifically the Attorney General of Canada, the Department of Health Canada, and former Minister of Health Patty Hajdu (Western Standard; SNJ Associates). Dan is suing for millions of dollars, alleging malfeasance in public office, deceit, fraud, and negligence (Western Standard; Alexander).
This battle is critically important to Dan as it is an unwavering quest for justice for Sean, providing answers for his perfectly healthy son’s sudden death, which he believes was caused by the vaccine (SNJ Associates; Western Standard). For Canadians, the legal fight is a significant step toward achieving truth, transparency, recognition, and support for all citizens harmed or lost after COVID-19 vaccination (Global News; SNJ Associates). Furthermore, Dan’s experience highlights reported challenges within the VISP, which has faced long waits and numerous calls for reform (Global News; Western Standard).
